Columbia

Columbia is the capital city of South Carolina stretches across Richland and Lexington counties. The capital city is centrally located in the state and is approximately 2.5 hours from the beach or the mountains. One of the states biggest attractions is the Riverbanks Zoo and Garden with 170 acres of zoo, garden and aquarium space. Columbia's other attractions include the SC State Museum, SC Statehouse and Columbia Museum of Art. Congaree National Park, Sesquicentennial State Park and Harbison State Forest offer outdoor recreation and numerous hiking trails.
